Rainbow Park Trucks

Plants Delivered Right,
Every Time

Rainbow Park operates its own dedicated fleet of trucks and trained drivers, giving us direct control over how your plants travel, from our nursery gate to your door.

In-House Logistics at National Scale

Trucks lined up by facility

Most nurseries in New Zealand rely on third-party carriers to get their plants to market. Rainbow Park doesn’t. We operate our own dedicated truck fleet, managed and dispatched from our Ramarama site, covering distribution routes from Whangarei in the north to the South Island — a nationwide reach that most nursery operations simply cannot match under their own control.

Running logistics in-house means we control the full delivery chain. Our drivers are trained specifically to handle living plants — not general freight operators who happen to be carrying a load of ornamentals. Plants travel on industry-standard trolleys, loaded and secured by a team that understands what a plant needs during transit: airflow, handling care, and arrival in the same condition it left the glasshouse.

For wholesale buyers and retail partners, this translates directly into reliability. Deliveries arrive on time, in the condition quoted, and managed by the same team responsible for growing the plants in the first place. The logistics operation is coordinated by Anna Tayler, our Dispatch Manager, who oversees the full fleet, authorised carriers, order entry, and packing — ensuring every delivery is accounted for from the moment an order is placed.

How Our Distribution Works

Our growing operation covers a wide range of plant categories, giving wholesale buyers the ability to consolidate sourcing through a single, reliable supplier:

National Reach
Our distribution network covers New Zealand from Whangarei to the South Island. Routes are run on a regular schedule, supplying garden retailers, major retail chains, and trade accounts across the North Island, with South Island coverage for established wholesale relationships.

Trained Plant Delivery Specialists
Every driver on the Rainbow Park fleet is trained to carry and deliver living plants professionally. That means understanding load stability on trolleys, protecting plants from wind exposure in transit, handling delicate specimens with care, and managing time-sensitive deliveries for perishable or seasonal lines. Our drivers aren’t moving boxes —they’re delivering living products that need to arrive looking their best.

Industry-Standard Trolley System
Plants are loaded and transported on industry-standard nursery trolleys — the same trolley system used across New Zealand’s major garden retail networks. This allows for smooth, efficient unloading at retail and trade destinations, minimises handling of individual plants, and ensures plants arrive presented and ready for the shop floor with minimal additional work at the receiving end.

Dispatch Coordination
Our Dispatch Manager oversees the full delivery operation: order entry, packing, fleet scheduling, and carrier management. All deliveries are coordinated centrally, giving wholesale customers a single point of contact for delivery queries and ensuring orders are correctly allocated, packed, and dispatched to the right location at the right time.

Why In-House Logistics Matters

When you source plants from a nursery that uses third-party freight, you’re accepting a handover point where control ends. The nursery is responsible for the plant up to loading; what happens after is someone else’s problem. Rainbow Park has chosen a different model — and the difference shows.

Full Accountability End-to-End
From glasshouse to your receiving dock, the same organisation is responsible for quality. There’s no carrier to blame, no handover gap, no split responsibility when something goes wrong.

Drivers Who Understand Plants
Not general freight operators; our drivers are trained for living cargo and know what it takes to deliver plants in excellent condition.

Consistent, Scheduled Delivery Runs
Established routes and regular schedules mean retail partners can plan around reliable delivery windows, not variable third-party ETAs.

Flexibility for Large or Complex Orders
Managing our own fleet means we can coordinate multi-stop deliveries, prioritise time-sensitive loads, and adapt when retail demand spikes seasonally.

Scale without Outsourcing Quality
Our logistics operation has grown alongside the nursery business itself; it’s built for the volume and frequency that national retail supply requires.

Delivering for New Zealand’s Leading Retailers

Rainbow Park’s logistics network services some of New Zealand’s most demanding retail supply chains — where on-time delivery, product quality on arrival, and consistent performance are non-negotiable.

“Their priority is to take expert care throughout the delivery process to make sure plants always reach their destination in excellent condition.”
Anna Tayler, Dispatch Manager
